If you like this one check out my even smaller runout sensor

This is a very small inline Filament runout sensor for PTFE Tube.

Print in provided orientation

you need:

  • 2x 8mm push fitting (ECAS)
  • 1x Omron Switch
  • 1x 2pin JST socket
  • 1x 5mm steelball
  • some wires
  • 1x M3x8 or 10 screw

Assembly is very easy:

  1. You need to trim off the Lever of the Switch about 3mm to be flush with the switch body. You might also need to trim the connector legs of the switch a bit
  2. insert the 5mm steelball into the Runoutbody.
  3. place the switch with the hinged side of the lever towards the 1st layer.
  4. Fix the lever with 2 strands of filament through the awailable holes (heat up the ends with a solder iron to prevent it from falling out)
  5. solder the jst XH to C and NO (or NC) or just solder on wires directly.
  6. Close up the Body with the back piece and screw in a m3x10 screw.

include the runoutsensor to your firmware and you are good to go.
