I designed this functional model to create a footswitch to issue page up and page down commands to a windows or mac connected via USB. Using a $5 Raspberry Pi Pico.  I use it to page through a Preview window on a mac or a browser window on Windows to advance pages while playing music.

It's not the prettiest design, because I decided to use some really long arcade-style buttons that I already had.  It could definitely be adapted to use smaller arcade buttons or an entirely different type of momentary switch.

This project requires:

1 Raspberry Pi Pico

Usb A to micro USB that can handle data transfer as well as charging

Two Arcade buttons with switches

Connecting jumper wires - These could vary based on your components chosen above.

For setting up the Pico:

Connect the Pico and replace code.py with the code.py attached and save the file

And the worst part of the model is the bottom plate.  I just put a thin line of hot glue on it so that it uses friction to wedge in and stay in place.

It isn't too tough, but might take some tinkering.  Good luck!  Let me know if you run into any issues?
