This piston stand is modeled after a conrod. It is a simple design with a hollow base if any ballast is required to prevent toppling. I still have the failed support in mine as it turned out to be more stable than I anticipated for my little cylinder. It can be used as a sort of trophy, or just as a display for a relic pulled out of an engine.
I recommend using supports for the bottom as it is horizontal, the material is unimportant and if you have a larger piston I have added the freecad file so you can resize the model. I have designed it to be in proportion though, so a simple scale may be all that is required, depending on the piston.
