As stated in the summary, it is a corner protector of simple design. There are two types:

  • 3-sided corner protector, the most common variant, intended for most applications.
  • 2-sided corner protector, with the same dimensions as the 3-sided variant but as the name suggests only has two sides. This type of corner protector can be useful in applications where you want to protect the corner but also want to show one side completely.

In the following image we can see the most relevant dimensions for the two types:

In the last photo of the post we can see the two types being used in the same box.

Print settings

Printed in PLA, without rafts or supports, at 0.2 mm resolution and 100% infill.

As for orientations, for the 3-sided version you will no doubt want the part to lie flat on one side.

However, for the 2-sided version, you may want to print it as shown in the image. By printing it in this orientation, you ensure more strength to the part, since the layers are along the entire length of the part making an “L” shape.

Since it will presumably be a part that will suffer a lot of wear and tear, I think it is advisable to print it in PETG or ABS to obtain a more durable model.

Assembly

Once the pieces are printed, you will need to attach them to the box or container. The best way is to glue them. I personally used two-part epoxy with great results.
