A sleek, minimal rear mudguard designed specifically to clamp onto your bike's lower seat stays using standard zip-ties. This style of fender provides critical, close-proximity protection for lower frame linkages, suspension pivots, and mid-drive e-bike motors where standard seatpost-mounted fenders don't block the splatter.
Originally designed around a 27.5" mountain bike frame with 2.1" wide tires, it fits comfortably over tires up to 2.4" wide.
Available Variations Included:
Standard Short Version: The original sleek profile optimized for compact protection.
Long Version (MudGuardLong.stl): A longer extension profile created by community request to provide extended spray shielding further down the frame line.
Real-World Material Longevity Testing:
Initial Print (PCTG): Worked well initially but began to exhibit minor cracking along the layer lines after roughly 6 months of hard, vibratory trail riding.
Current Recommendation (Nylon): Upgraded and reprinted in solid Nylon. The material properties provide much higher impact flex and completely resolved any layer splitting issues.
Print & Customization Settings:
Orientation: Print the fender standing vertically with a steady outer brim (10-12mm wide) to secure it safely to the build plate without risking toppling.
