I needed a 120mm “case” fan for a PC that I am building on a rackmount shelf. I designed this bracket to mount a fan and to include buttons for power and reset. It is 3U in height; the mount is on the top 1U, leaving the 2U below it available to mount a shelf. I added bracing in the back so it's not too flimsy. Once the fan is mounted to the bracket it's quite strong for what it is.

PLA should be fine. I'd recommend adding supports to the area where the switches mount so it doesn't sag and cause the buttons to stick out. Otherwise no supports needed.

I also created a version without buttons and mirrored versions of each in case you want to mount on the right side of your rack. Fusion file also included in case you want to make your own adjustments…I am not a professional so please don't judge my messy Fusion work. Lol.

In the picture I also added a basic fan grill, which I will upload separately.

The switches used are 7mm momentary switches. I purchased these on amazon (not affiliated) (If that link dies, try this search). The buttons should press fit onto them, though you may have to adjust the tolerances to get the fitment right. Only thing I didn't account for is the switches can rotate so the logos on the buttons don't stay clocked correctly. Oh well…
