I designed this model to be a slip-on/slip-off cover for the Siedle fingerprint reader for unlocking the front door (Haustür). In the summer the reader can get too hot when exposed to direct sunlight for long periods and not read your finger. This keeps it shaded so it can operate properly. I also think it is helping in the winter as well. I have noticed a performance improvement in successful attempts at fingerprint reading.
You can insert the thin part at the top into the spacer above the fingerprint reader in order to hang it in place.
