Direct Drive Ender 3 Neo

A direct drive adaptation that I've created for my Ender 3 Neo since I couldn't find one that wouldn't interfere with the print height (everything else I've found had the extruder motor above the X axis profile or was just too bulky and the motor couldn't cool properly, model used for inspiration below).

First photo shows the orientation that I've used to print it originally. It was printed in PETG to have enough strength and resist the temperature.

50% infill with 3 walls did the job for me initially, but sadly while doing another upgrade I've managed to crack the original one. Since then I've upgraded to a aluminum part since I have access to a CNC at work. Supports are necessary, use whatever you feel comfortable with.

It should work on all Ender 3 models with the hot end similar to the Neo/Pro since the X passive plate wheel holes are the same for all of them.

My inspiration was the model below, in my case insufficient cooling being the biggest problem.

ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION

Direct Drive Adapter for the new hotend of the Creality Ender 3 Neo series. It can be printed flat on the 45 degree cut without any support. I printed it in PLA at 20% infill. The mounting process is the same as the same adapter for the ender 3 pro. Added an hole for the screw that holds the hotend plastic cover even though it isn't there in the pictures. I designed this because I couldn't find any adapter for this printer. Hope this is useful to somebody :)

It works with the stock aluminum or plastic extruder.

Compatible with:
-Ender 3 Neo
-Ender 3 V2 Neo
-Ender 3 Max Neo
