I've tried several versions of printed clips to hold sunglasses on my car's visors. Even in more durable materials, I'm always disappointed with them after a few hot days. I wanted a clasp that didn't rely on the mechanical or thermal properties of the plastic.
I printed this with ASA for durability and UV resistance. I placed the objects on the build plate to maximize strength. There are ways to minimize supports, but I think the durability is worth a little extra material and post processing. No brim is needed, but depending on your build plate, a glue stick might help.
Additional materials:
- ¼" (6mm) sticky back foam or felt
- 1/8" (3mm) metal rod
- 1 @ 1-3/16" (30mm)
- 1 @ 1.5" (37mm)
