I needed a way to mount a power strip to one of my HSW, but everyone kept making shrouds unique to a specific power strip that I don't have. I opted to use the keyholes as the mounting point because I could very easily parameterize the cad project for it to fit many different situations. I found this design from NJJerrySmith as a good starting point for what I wanted. The power strip I used for this project is this Hypertough 6 outlet strip from Walmart.

Here is a rundown of the user parameters in the fusion file.

  1. From the original Design.
  • Shaft
    • Diameter: shaftDia - the diameter of the column between the base and the pin
    • Height: shaftHeight - distance between the top of the base and the bottom of the pin
  • Pin
    • Diameter: pinDia - diameter of the top section
    • Height: pinHeight - height of the top section

      2. Parameters I added

  • DistanceBetweenPegs: Distance bewteen the two keyhole pegs. Measured from center to center.
  • DistanceHexPeg: Don't Modifiy, controls the standard distance between a HSW insert hexagon.
  • NumHexagonApart: Controls how many Hexagons apart each of the two inserts are. Modify this to fit your needs. I recommend trying to get it as close to the peg as possible.

Printing Instructions

I recommend printing in the orientation pictured below for optimal strength of the pegs. Printing in other orientations may mean the force of the power strip or similar device pulling down on the mount could cause the layers to separate. Supports will be required, use Grid as the distance is pretty small from the bed to the pegs.
