I wanted to mount LED lighting under my desk using Hands On Katie's excellent Underware system.
I used a Vroom32 ESP32 Dev board for a WLED controller, using the excellent case created by Predy, but it needed some tweaks to make it perfect for my needs.
I added a MultiConnect attachment slot (By David D) for ease of removal for service, changes, etc. THIS REQUIRES GLUE. I could find no good way to print this in the correct orientation otherwise, without needing a ton of supports and looking pretty terrible as a result. Simply superglue the MultiConnect slot on the back of the case after printing, its very simple. Plenty strong, as these are not remotely heavy, and there's a ton of good gluing surface available. I made everything absolutely as thin as possible to keep it low profile.
There was only one comically small access hole for the power cord, so I made that a bit bigger for easier use. I also added a second hole on the other side, for the control wires to exit to the LED strip. Also some coordinating cutouts in the lid.
I also added some ventilation holes so the controller isn’t quite as sealed up inside. (Hexagons are the Bestagons). Both in the case body and in the MultiConnect slot on the back (since heat rises, and these were specifically being mounted under a desk, facing down).
And finally, I added a “thin spot” in the lid, positioned right over the board’s status LED, so you can actually see it, without needing a full on hole. (If your filament is too dark to see, still, just drill out the hole.)
I believe I used either PLA+ or PETG, but either should work well. 3 walls for strength, otherwise slicer defaults should be fine.
Use these MultiConnect connectors to attach the controller to your MultiBoard panels: https://www.printables.com/model/716558-multiconnect-generic-connector-for-multiboard/
Enjoy!
