This is intended to be used while the saw is mounted to a table in the vertical position. Check out the video. Printed upside-down with support. Use a brim on the shaft. The hinge takes an 8-32 machine screw. It was designed to use a keyed shaft but just using super glue on the cam and lever seem to be sufficient.
