Description

This is the case for the Mantaray, an ergonomic mechanical keyboard I designed.

The upgraded version of this project, the Mantaray Pro Wireless, is now available! You can pick one up either assembled, or as a kit. 3D files for mounting accessories coming soon!

The keyboard is inspired by the ZSA Voyager and features:

  • low profile choc v1 switch support
  • ortholinear, column staggered layout
  • OLED display to view caps lock status, currently selected layer, and WPM count

How to build:

Follow the written build guide on my GitHub, or check out my YouTube channel for a video guide.

Want to build this but don't want to go through the process of ordering multiple PCBs yourself? Consider purchasing one from my shop! It's a great way to get an affordable PCB for this project while showing your support for my work!

To build the Mantaray, you will need:

  • A Supported Controller: Pro Micro (RP2040 recommended, link below)
  • Hardware Needed:
    • 1 x Mantaray PCB
    • 1 x RP2040 Pro Micro Controller (Amazon, AliExpress)
    • 52 x Kailh Hotswap Sockets (Amazon)
    • 52 x Kailh Choc V1 Switches (Amazon)
    • 52 x Kailh choc v1 compatible keycaps (Amazon)
    • 52 x 1N4148 through-hole Diodes (Amazon)
      • Alternatively, you can use surface mount diodes (Amazon)
    • 1 x 128x32 SSD1306 OLED Display (Amazon)
    • 1 x 3D printed case
    • 8 x M2x5mm tapered head machine screws (Amazon)
    • Optional Stuff
      • 1 x Reset Button (Amazon)
      • 1 x Syringe of Solder Flux (Amazon)
      • 8 x M2x3x3.2mm Heat Set Inserts (Amazon)
        • While the inserts are technically optional, I highly recommend using them. They're awesome.
