This was designed for a cubby which is 20" wide and 15" deep.  The LED's stick to the “channels” (pointing down at a 45 deg angle) and the channels stick to the intersection of the cubby walls and ceiling.  The diffusers slide into the channels, and all are designed to connect at 90-degree internal corners.  Lastly, there are notches in each of the channels - this is only a visual indicator to ensure correct orientation (notches should all be on the ceiling side vs wall). All channels were attached using double sided tape.

The PCB case will snap together, no hardware needed.  It has ventilation holes on the bottom so be sure to orient the PCB with the processor facing the ventilation holes.  And if you solder the JST connectors to the board, ensure the wires are coming from the same side as the USB C port (opposite side of the processor).  The case mount has a diagonal support which can be used to tuck the wires through and take up some slack.

The files are in folders (either in component groups or as individual bodies).

  • 1x: PCB Case (Group)
    • Bodies
      • Case Bottom (colored blue in render)
      • Case Top (colored green in render)
      • Case Mount (colored yellow in render)
  • 1x: Split Rear Channel and Diffuser (20in Inc PCB - colored red in render)
    • This part is split with 90-degree angles to allow the PCB mount in between the two cut pieces.
  • 2x: Side_Full Channel and Diffuser (15in)
  • 1x: Front_Full Channel and Diffuser (20in)

The 20" Full Front Channel/Diffuser was barely able to fit on the print plate diagonally.  The length of the channels and diffusers can most certainly be scaled (I haven't tested scaling on all axis, however).

An alternate version of the front channel is available if you prefer to print in two pieces instead of 1.  The alternate version is quite similar to the rear channel but is cut at a 45-degree angle (vs 90) for a flush butt connection.

Due to the length of several pieces (and how small the channels are), I did experience lifts during the initial prints.  All lifts were remedied by adding single layer “mouse ears” as in the attached slicer file.    A brim worked just as well but was more time consuming to remove than the ears.
