I wanted an affordable DIY NAS case that fits 8 HDDs, no external GPUs or huge power supplies.I built this to fit an mATX board , as they're cheaper than microATX and give more space.
I managed to fit a SAS LSI card. A low profile CPU cooler is a must, so power hungry CPUs won't work for this build (I used a 35W TDP CPU).
Cable management is hard though, I saved space by trimming unnecessary power terminals only kept HDD SATA power ports.
My Setup:
- Pro B460M-C/CSM
- Intel i3 10105T
- Thermal Right low profile cooler AXP90 X36
- Apevia TFX-AP300W Power Supply
- 2.5Gbit Realtek NIC
- LSI 9217-8l SAS Card
- 8 x 4TB SAS HDD
- 2 x 512GB NVME (Caching)
- 1 x 1TB Crucial SSD (Docker data)
- 2 x DDR4 32GB 2666MHz
- 2 x DDR4 16GB 2666MHz
Model is free for non-commercial use. V2 incoming, with some edits to make the assembly easier.
