Handles for a wooden shield

I wanted to make a wooden shield for my son and spent a long time looking for suitable handles. Apart from a few inspirations, I couldn't find exactly what I needed, as I wanted a mounting solution that wouldn't be visible on the front of the shield while still being sturdy enough for play. To secure the handle, multiple small screws can be used, ensuring sufficient stability even in relatively thin particle boards.

The base plate is designed to accommodate both ≤25 mm wide straps and the grip bar, and it can be replaced at any time. Additionally, three different grip bars are available for download, allowing customization based on hand size.

The handle can be used individually for round shields or in pairs for cavalry or tower shields.

The following non-printed parts are required per handle:

• 16 countersunk screws of suitable length for your shield (at least 8)

• 2x M3 nut

• 2x M3x35 to M3x40 screw (M3x35 may be slightly short, but with a bit of persuasion, it can still be used)

• Optional: 2x M3 washer

Ich wollte für meinen Sohn ein Holzschild basteln und habe dafür lange nach passenden Handgriffen gesucht. Außer mit ein paar Inspirationen wurde ich allerdings nicht fündig, da ich nicht wollte, dass die Befestigung des Handstückes auf der Vorderseite des Schildes sichtbar ist und dennoch eine spieltaugliche und somit robuste Befestigung haben wollte. Zum Befestigen können viele kleine Schrauben genutzt werden, wodurch der Handgriff auch in relativ dünnen Pressspanplatten genügend Halt findet.

Die Grundplatte ist so gestaltet, dass sie sowohl für ≤25 mm breite Bänder als auch für die Griffstange geeignet ist und jederzeit ausgetauscht werden kann. Zudem stehen drei verschiedene Griffstangen in unterschiedlichen Größen je nach Hand des Nutzers zum Download bereit.

Der Handgriff kann entweder einzeln für Rundschilde oder im Doppel für Reiterschilde oder Turmschilde genutzt werden.

Folgende nicht zu druckende Teile werden pro Griff benötigt:

• 16 Senkkopfschrauben in geeigneter Länge für euer Schild (mind. 8)

• 2x M3-Mutter

• 2x M3x35 bis M3x40 Schraube (M3x35 wird möglicherweise etwas kurz sein, mit ein wenig Überzeugungsarbeit bekommt man diese aber auch hinein)

• Optional: 2x M3-Unterlegscheibe
