BASS Break Action Shell Shot

Technically overview

-Metric hardware

-k25 spring

-same tube as SLAB

-low hardware build

-Sillyshell

-prime on close

The BASS is a nerf blaster that shots Sillyshells. It is a break action blaster that primes on close, meaning it opens quit easily but you need some force to close it as you are compressing the spring during this movement. It may not be the most useful blaster or the most practical and it is definitel not competitiv but it is fun and it looks cool.

Check out the Sillyshells project form Sillybutts. https://www.printables.com/model/880038-silly-shells-for-homemade-nerf-blasters.

The  stock that the red and green BASS in the pictures is using is Gemeneyes Torrent Buffer Tube Stock. It prints easily and I think it looks great with BASS, so check it out.

This blaster is designed to be build by a person with little experience with nerf blasters. I tried to keep the hardware list as simple as possible to make it easier to source the parts and to keep the price down. I am using metric hardware but you should be able to find all parts with relative ease in the US. Please read the BOM and the Assembly guid for how to find parts in the US and elsewhere.

You can customise this blaster by picking your own colour scheme and by deciding yourself which side module you pick. You can add Picatinny rails, integrated Sillyshells holders or blank covers.

Printing the blaster

I designed this blaster to be printed in PLA. I used 6 wall loops and 30% infill and used around 1.8kg. Please do not try to save materia by reducing the wall loops as this could lead parts breaking. You will need a printer that has at least the size of a Prusa MK3 to fit all parts. The parts are all uploaded in the correct orientation. Please use bright colours for this blaster and especiall the muzzel to ensure that it won't be mistaken for a real gun. I used a colour scheme based on 3 colours but you can use more or less.

Creators note

This is the first blaster I ever designed and I choose a rather strange approach to build a break action blaster. Therefore I would love to hear your feedback and see if anyone is actually going to build it. I tested the blaster but I would love to see how it performs with other people especially since I do not have a chronograph.

Shout out to Sillybutts for this amazing shell.

Safety note

This blaster has a lot of power depending on the spring and projectile you use. Always ensure that all people that are involved in a nerf battle wear eye protection. Stop using this blaster immediately if you notice damage. Use bright colours to ensure this blaster is not mistaken for a real gun.  Act reasonable and responsible.

I am not responsibl for any injury that results from building or operating this blaster.
