I wanted to add a Cartographer3d to my K1's and Max's, but I had already made a significant commitment to Micro-Swiss hot ends/nozzles which I truly love. But they are short… real short. Short enough to make me throw away a weekend on designing space pen type mounts trying to thread the 0.5~1mm needle of available real estate in my chosen format. Finally the pencil occurred to me. Just shamelessly steal Purcell's hard work and jam my requirement into it. Voila… a Carto Cover.
BOM: 2x M3x2.5(L) x4.5mm(OD) Brass Heat Set Insert
1x DIY 4C cable (+/- 25mm)
X Offset= 15.37mm
* Widened Lidar access / Coved screw locations
** Eliminated cleats and stops for the LED rack. Extended rails side to side.
*** Added manageable carto mount shim. Adjust only the height in slicer for precise results.
(Default 1mm. Use Micro-Swiss cover file for the broadest range of “Z” adjustment)
**** Published covers for Micro-Swiss Flowtech Hot end/Nozzle configurations
To avoid a really annoying support clean-up:
*** Print Upside Down, use Manual Support. Do NOT support nozzle port (See pics) ***
