Tiltable phone stand

This is model of tiltable, stable and I believe elegant phone stand. It can be tilted at a great angle (see picture with tilt range). There are 12 positions with 7,5deg steps. Your charger can remain connected, there is a cutout in the holder for it.

The stand consists of 2 parts - base and D shaped holder. You can tilt holder by pressing buttons on the base (from both sides). Buttons are integrated into base design. They use comliance of the material. Note that there are 2 versions of the base in the files below: 

1. base with my logo on the bottom and smile on the top ("base_R56.stl")
2. base without logo and without the smile ("base_R56___without_logo.stl").

Both parts are easily 3D printable.

I used PLA, 0.2mm layer, 3 perimeters, 4 bottom layers, 5 top layers, 15% infill (rectilinear).

For the D holder I added brim since the first layer of it has a shape with sharp corners and I wanted to be sure it will not lift up from the bed.

The only element which needs support is the guide slot in D holder, but the custom support stripe is part of the model. This support stripe can be easily removed with your fingers afterwards. If you choose not to use this custom support, just split the model in the slicer and use slicer supports. After removing support you may need to clean the upper surfaces (the ones that were supported).

Assembly (also see pictures):

1. remove parts from the built plate
2. cut off the brim of D holder if you decided to use it
3. peel off the custom support stripe inside the guide slot of the D holder
4. you may need to clean up the guide slot edges
5. press the buttons (from both sides) on the base and slide in the D holder
6. add 4 small foam (or rubber) pads on the base (it makes holder really stable)
7. place your phone and adjust the tilt ;)
