This is a Case for the ZodiarkPi. A 68 key ergo split keyboard designed by Aleblazer (https://www.splitlogic.xyz).
The case features a gasket mounted plate, space for a metal insert, 5° tenting and swappable accessories for an Waveshare 2inch LCD Display Module and Azoteq TPS65 touchpad.
The design is resin printer friendly. No heat inserts and no mid print magnets.
It got a retro design inspired by Levener (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4938835)
Print:
Models are for the left side. Just mirror them for the other side.
The display and the touchpad inserts are interchangeable and need no mirror.
I added extra strength with a higher infill for the top around the clipin part.
This part tents to flex with low infill.
I printed my TPU insert upside down on a structured plate without supports. Two bottom layers and 3 top layers. 5% Gyroid Infill. Anything more was not squishy enough for my taste with the 95a TPU I used.
The two bottom layers (Actual top side of the TPU-insert fused pretty well. But I had defects with two layers on the top of the print (actual bottom). The up to 3 layers was enough to get a fully closed and stable surface for my printer.
I could get a smoother top finish for the bottom and wrist prest parts if i had printed them with supports, but it will increase the print time and material usage a lot because of the tenting. I will sand my entire case so the stairstepping from the angled top surface is no issue for me and as you can see in the pictures it's not that big of a deal with my 0.16mm layer hight.
But you should consider to print these two parts with the top leveled and supports.
Wrist rest could be flipped with ease but the bottom part has little standofs on the contact side to the top part to help with potential missaligns and slips between the top and bottom.
Material list:
- Waveshare 2inch LCD Display Module
- Azoteq TPS65 touchpad
- 4mm thick foam gaskets (EVA is a little stiff. Consider some other foam or reduce face coverage)
- 5x2 mm magnets
- 10mm long M2 screws for the display mount
- M3 Screws and nuts for the metal insert
- 10x15 cm metal insert
My thanks go to Aleblazer for the amazing Zodiark and Levener for his Zodiark case!
You guys are awesome!!
Let me know if you have any problems with the files.
I will post better pictures when i got them.
I've added the fusion files to ease alterations on your end.
