I prefer my socket rail lay in my tool box from the front to rear, but it was too long by just a fraction of an inch. So I created a compact end cap to replace the original and now it fits just like I want.
While I was at it I created a version identical to the original size with a mount hole and everything. So If you are in need of a compact end cap, or a replacement full size one. Here they are.
PRINT SETTINGS:
Ensure you orient the print so the angled tabs point upwards! (essentially upside down according to the way you would install it on the rail)
You will need supports, just be mindful of the small tabs and such when removing the supports from your print.
I printed PLA at .08 layer height
They are snug and will require firm pressure to install, just be firm and mindful not to break the tabs when putting them on
