When setting up the inflatable pool for our daughter, we ran into the issue that not every part was safe to inflate with a compressor. Unfortunately, I only had a bicycle air pump available, so…
… I designed and printed an adapter! :-)
How to use:
- The adapters should fit into the schrader side of any old bicycle air pump. Open the latch, insert straight, non-tapered side into the pump head and close the latch again. It should be a snug fit, but the adapter will have some room to wiggle around, which is fine.
- The 5 mm version is tapered and inserts into typical smaller inflatables like air mattresses, neck pillows or inflatable water balls.
- The 8 mm is only very slightly tapered and fits larger openings as you might find on inflatable pools.
Recommended material and print settings
- PLA works fine. If the part spends a lot of time exposed to direct sunlight, ASA might be a smart alternative.
- Print it in an upright position, with the pump insert facing the build plate
- No supports, 5 mm brim
- 100% Infill
