Using this adapter, you can utilize an IKEA MELODI pendant lamp with the IKEA HEKTAR floor lamp as a complete replacement for the shade.
This will allow the lamp to diffuse some of the light around the shade and not just under it.
I printed it in two pieces to avoid using supports, then CA glued them flat surfaces together, making sure to align the inner circles properly.
To install:
- Remove the bulb and the plastic nut holding the metal shade by unscrewing it.
- Remove the shade, replace it with the MELODI lamp shade.
- Place the adapter through the light socket, it should be a snug fit. Sandwiching the Lamp body, with the shade in the middle. Rotate the adapter to align with the shade indentations.
- Replace the plastic nut, screw it tightly.
- Rejoice.
