Assembly

  1. Lay down a sheet of wax paper or work on a non-stick surface.
  2. Using a flush cutter break off the small indented tabs.
    1. Green arrows point to the feature on the Fusion screenshot.
    2. With the tabs removed the assembly should not make contact with the screw heads securing the 4 bay drive cage to the N5 chassis.
  3. Bring both LEFT & RIGHT parts together lining up the exterior edges as close as possible.
  4. Apply instant/super/CA glue (or specific adhesive for your printed material) to the chamfered side of the JOINT2 part
  5. Apply adhesive to the lower cutouts of the LEFT & RIGHT parts.
    1. The lower cutouts are closest to the protruding tabs and farthest from magnet mounting studs.
  6. Press the JOINT2 part into the cutout section of the LEFT & RIGHT parts applying even pressure on the JOINT2 part while making sure the exterior sides of the LEFT & RIGHT parts remain lined up.
  7. Apply a drop of adhesive to both magnet holes of the MAGJOINT part and press in your magnets until they bottom out.
  8. Apply adhesive to the upper remaining cutouts on the now semi-joined LEFT & RIGHT parts.
  9. Apply adhesive to the MAGJOINT part on the bottom and top side surfaces that will make contact with the assembly.
  10. Line up the MAGJOINT part so that the magnets are facing you and press the part evenly into the assembly, and squeezing so that all parts adhere together.
  11. Run some adhesive down the center line of the assembly.
  12. Apply a drop of adhesive to both magnet mounting stud holes facing you and press in magnets.
  13. Let cure overnight.
  14. Flip assembly and make sure the Jonsbo N5 original cover slots in correctly. The black border should be about flush with the printed assembly.
  15. Check magnet polarity of the N5 cover by placing your soon-to-be glued in magnet on N5 cover.
  16. Apply a drop of adhesive to the magnet mounting holes and press in magnets so that the polarity attracts the N5 cover.
  17. Allow adhesive to cure.
  18. Install fans.
    1. Pictured are Thermalright TL-C14 140mm fans mounted using included silicone stud mounts.
    2. I ran my fan wiring through the 4 bay side, above the top HDD, and through the opening in the top side of the N5 to an available fan header.
  19. Slot in the front cover, slot in the assembly to N5, and enjoy reduced HDD temps :)
