I designed this laptop stand to raise my work laptop’s webcam to eye level while taking up as little desk space as possible, using a simple, support-free shape with no moving parts.

Version 1 holds a single laptop, but I often needed two machines open at once, usually leaving one running scripts rather than typing on it, so Version 2 expands the design into a compact dual-laptop stand while keeping the footprint as close to the original as possible.

For the best strength and stability, I recommend adding adhesive rubber feet underneath, and printing with a wall thickness of 4.

What's Included

  • V1 STL + FreeCAD file
Single-laptop stand. Not fully parametric, but the sketch constraints can be adjusted easily.
  • V2 STL + Parametric FreeCAD file
Dual-laptop stand with adjustable dimensions via a spreadsheet.

Parametric Customisation (V2 - FreeCAD)

Open the FreeCAD project and edit the values in the spreadsheet named “v”:

Stand geometry

  • WallWidth - Thickness of all structural lines in the stand
  • BeamWidth - Overall width of the stand (side-to-side)
  • LaptopGapThickness - Clearance for thicker laptops
  • LaptopBackLength - Height / length of the angled rear support

Dummy laptop model (for visual reference)

These don’t affect the stand, but help you size it to your own device:

  • LaptopBaseThickness
  • LaptopLidThickness
  • LaptopWidth
  • LaptopDepth
  • LaptopLidAngle

Adjusting these helps preview different laptop shapes and lid angles while designing.

Future Improvements

  • Recesses for adhesive feet (currently stick-on pads work well)
  • Open to suggestions or remixes — feel free to comment!

Print Settings (my setup)

  • Printer: Elegoo Centauri Carbon
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Walls: 4
  • Infill: 20%
  • Supports: No
  • Rafts: No

Both versions were designed to print easily, with no supports required.
