About
IKEA Tral has a mounting between the lamp and the GU10 ceramic socket, that uses two metric screws to keep it in place - the problem is that the mounting totally shattered around the screw heads and it just fell off. So I did a new one from scratch, but used socket.stl from https://www.printables.com/model/931604-gu_10-mount-base-for-other-projects as an outer housing of the ceramic socket.

Notice that my model uses Philips 3.5W 4000k 275lm 32mA, which means that even after 1h of constant light the light bulb is warm and can be safely kept in the hand, and the ceramic GU10 socket is even colder, so I decided to use PETG to print the mounting/adapter - another idea is to use ABS/ASA.
Please double check the temperatures before choosing the material.
I take no responsibility for any damages caused by this print - you use it at your own risk - this model is not compliant with any electrical standards.

Please give likes, review and suggestions for improvements. Also make sure to do the same to the original authors of the models used. Thanks!

Changelog

  • 2026.01.04 - initial release

Print

  • provided gcode is for material and time duration estimations only

  • please double check the temperatures of the bulb before choosing the print material - recommended is to use PETG or ABS/ASA because it makes the spring mechanism less stiff

  • 4 perimeters or more, 20% infill

  • use supports or cut out top fragment with a negative volume, it's not really required to have it

Assembly

  • print

  • make sure to mount it when the GU10 is NOT connected to the power source

  • use M3 screws to attach the mounting to the metal case of the lamp

  • use M4 screws for plastic to attach ceramic GU10 to the printed mount
