I wanted to use a camera tripod to mount an external antenna for Field Day use, but the 1/4-20 threads on tripods are too short to attach a standard nut. By using a 1/4-20 Coupling Nut I was able to 3D print these mounts, and the design is adaptable for other uses.
The base design is a BNC antenna mount using the coupling nut, and is useful in any tripod mount and/or base-plate style application. The remaining designs are variations on that theme with the addition of an indexing hole to prevent the mount from rotating on tripod shoes that include a pin. One design uses a BNC flange mount, and the other uses a BNC bulkhead mount. Both designs include an option for the antenna mount on the base of the unit and on top of the unit, depending on need.
