This is a simple oil filter drain tool designed for general aviation filters which are 3 3/4 inches in diameter It hangs over the side of a 5 gallon bucket allowing you to drain the filter before cutting open for inspection. I printed with PLA which is suitable only for cool oil. But I plan to experiment with other materials.
Minimal supports are required for the hooks.
I printed the black one with Sunlu PLA+ 2.0. 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm speed, 15% infill.
The Yellow one is printed with Amazon basics PETG, this seemed to require more supports to print correctly. I have added a new generic PETG profile to the files.
Update 2/12/2026: Changed the PETG file to have organic supports. This seemed to work better.
