Too many Shrimps? Want to sell them or give them to your friends? Hard to catch them, right?

Here you have 3 different versions of a shrimp trap I have design and perfected throughout the time that I'm now sharing with you, for you to print and finally manage to control this proliferic and colorfull little animals in your aquarium, according to your needs!

Every version has a small and big hole size sub-version.

Shrimp Trap - “Slik”:

  • Simpler model;

  • Advise to use supports on the under side of the cap while printing.

  • The “body” part is the same for all cap versions, being here where you place the bait.

  • These caps have small holes on the top to prevent the entrapment of air bubbles (not letting the print sink) and are for you to run wire (e.g. nylon or fishing wire) to pull the trap and not have your hands wet.

  • No need to print  with 100% infill to stay sinked.

Shrimp Trap - “print in place”:

  • Cap designed to be printed without the need for supports on the under side.

  • The “body” part is the same for all cap versions, being here where you place the bait.

  • In order for the inside infill cavities full with air to be filled with water and thus making the trap stay on the bottom of the tank without you needing to print with 100% infill, there are holes marked on the base of the cap for you to drill mechanically or with a heated nail (careful too not cause fires!).

  • No need to print  with 100% infill to stay sinked.

Shrimp Trap - “Holed” :

  • Cap similar to the “slick" version, however with sliks on the cap to let water and light inside the “body” cavity where te bait is placed, wile also needing less material.

  • Advise to use supports on the under side of the cap while printing.

  • The “body” part is the same for all cap versions, being here where you place the bait.

  • These caps have small holes on the top to prevent the entrapment of air bubbles (not letting the print sink) and also for you to run wire (e.g. nylon or fishing wire) to pull the trap and not have your hands wet.

  • No need to print  with 100% infill to stay sinked.

I have tested all of them, and they all work fine, having more success with the holed small version.

In my experience the success of the trap tends to be more related with the bait you use (fish food, veggies, mussels, java moss).

Good luck!
