Low-Pro Top Tube Garmin Harness ( Enduro / Trail/ downcountry mountain bikes)
This project is an ultra-low profile top tube harness designed to move your Garmin bike computer off the handlebars and onto the frame for maximum protection and a cleaner cockpit. This design achieves the absolute minimum stack height by leveraging the unique properties of flexible filament.
Frame Compatibility: Modeled specifically for the Yeti SB160 (~180-190mm top tube circumference). Due to similar frame geometries, this harness is expected to fit other modern enduro frames such as the Santa Cruz Megatower, Trek Slash, and Forbidden Dreadnought.
Design Philosophy: Hybrid Integration
This mount utilizes a "best of both worlds" material approach:
TPU Base & Straps: Printed in Polymaker TPU 95A. This provides the frame grip and the flexibility for the integrated pin-and-loop system.
Original Hardware: Houses the original Garmin bar-mount insert (the black puck) for a precise, factory-grade "click".
Rigid Locking Cap: A separate twist-lock cap (ASA, PETG, or PLA) secures the assembly.
🏗 Printing Recommendations (Core One+ / Structural)
Material: Polymaker TPU 95A (Harness); ASA/PETG (Cap).
Preparation: Filament dried to 10% RH in a PolyDryer for optimal surface finish.
Shells: 3 Perimeters minimum.
Infill: 10% Gyroid (Base).
Reinforcement: Use a 60% Infill Modifier around the bridge hooks to ensure maximum rigidity of the locking pins (Refer to images for placement).
Supports: NONE
⚠ WARNING: Use Your Tether
Mountain biking involves extreme vibrations. Always use the official Garmin tether strap looped around your frame. This ensures that if the "mechanical fuse" triggers during a crash, your computer stays with the bike.
Note: This project is in a "Beta" state as I continue to refine the fit and finish..
