This print uses 2 additional Items to hold and power the Pi internally in an Epson TM-T88V Thermal Printer. May work with the TM-T88IV, not sure.
First off is a Cheap USB adapter: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806528208397.html
This had the metal front plate removed, as well as the USB Port.
A DC-DC step down module was used to power the Pi from the Printer: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808492415082.html
Note that the PI will always be powered even if the printers rocker switch is turned off.
To do this you will need to hand solder the Pi to the USB card. You could save yourself 1/2 the soldering with a right angle USB Micro cable, but a straight cable was too tough to get in and out of the printer.
2 of the pins from the Card were cut and soldered directly to the DC-DC converter. I couldn't think of a good place to hold this, so open to ideas. right now the solder does a good job of keeping it still.
I used some M3x10 screws, which perfectly fit without any threaded inserts, your results may vary.
This could be used in conjunction with CUPS (https://www.cups.org/) to connect the printer wireless to a PC or other device.
