WorkSharp Precision Adjust Chisel Adapter

I wanted to sharpen chisels and plane irons on my WorkSharp Precision Adjust. I came across an adapter sold on Etsy that allowed just that. The big clue was holding them at an angle of 45 degrees.

This adapter is my own version:

• you clamp it in the knife clamp of your Precision Adjust

• then clamp your chisel or plane iron on the adapter

• use the lined to help you position it perpendicular to the top of the adapter

• sharpen them as you would sharpen your knives

Required hardware:

• 2 M5x20mm bolts

• 2 M5 butterfly nuts

Note that the model has quite 'tight' pockets for the heads of the bolts, since I wanted mine to 'bind' to avoid them spinning free as I tighten the butterfly nuts. This did not really work out though, I might need to find a better way. If your bolts have bigger heads, you can adjust the pockets in the included FreeCAD model.

Printing hints:

• I printed in PLA, PETG should be fine too

• Print the adapter on its side, that way no support is needed.

• Print the 'clamp' piece with at least 10 wall loops and 35% infill, since it will be under a lot of stress. Feel free to replace this with a piece of wood or metal. It should be simple enough to make something of the right dimensions?
