Nikon Aculon A30 Objective Dust Caps
Just a small convenience model for the Nikon Aculon A30 compact binoculars.
My Aculon A30 came with caps for the eyepieces, but not for the objective lenses. Since this is a compact binocular model that you may want to put in a pocket or bag, I wanted simple dust covers for the objective side as well.
I made this model so others do not have to measure and model the same basic part themselves.
Included files:
Single objective dust cap STL. Ready to print.
Joined objective dust caps STL. Ready to print. The two caps are connected with a flexible bridge, so they stay together and are harder to lose.
FreeCAD 1.1 fully parametric design. The design is made parametrically, so dimensions can be adjusted if needed.
Personally I prefer the joined caps, but you can print 2 separate caps if you like that more.
Print settings used:
Printed in TPU on a Snapmaker J1S enclosed printer.
Material: TPU
Nozzle temperature: 238 ºC
Heated bed: 70 ºC
Print speed: 20 mm/s
Fan speed: 40%
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Brim: No, Raft: No, Supports: No
Notes:
The fit is intended as a simple friction fit. Depending on your printer, TPU hardness, and calibration, you may need to scale the model slightly.
For the joined version, let the TPU cool down before removing it from the build plate. The bridge can deform slightly if it is peeled off while still warm.
