Ready to build a GIANT Version of the @ChristianErazo Open RC Go Kart as seen on my YouTube Channel BeyondRC!

This is a remix of the OpenRC Go-Kart scaled to 200% effectively making this a quarter scale RC go kart fully printable at home on larger print beds.

I used a Bambu Lab H2S/H2C to print my Go-Kart but others are also available.

Christian Erazo did a fantastic job on the original but it was time the world see a 200% Version.

Only essential components for this build are included and I have skipped past engine files as they are only for aesthetics and don't affect the go kart but feel free to print those and scale to your motor size if required.

File Changes Log:

ADDED NORMAL SPUR AND PINION GEARS TO THE FILES MOD 1.5 (02/06/26)

Can use a metal ready made Mod 1.5 pinion if you want (Common on large scale RC cars) with one of the M1.5 spurs included in the files. This may be a better setup over the drive belt which is prone to slipping.

BOM:

Since everything is scaled 200% Its a case of doubling the size of original hardware from M3 to M6!

Screws: (can be socket cap or button head)

4x M6x32

4x M6x20

2x M5x25 (Motor Mounting)

Countersunk Screws:

10x M6x24

13x M6x20

30x M6x16

2x M5x12 (Motor Mounting)

Nuts/Washers:

14x M6 Nuts

2x M5 (motor mounting)

2x M5 Washers

Bearings/Bushings:

Readily available bearings are not available currently, instead I printed bushings in PC which should hold up fine but if using a brushless setup they may melt.

Bushings included in print files (Folder Bushings)

Electronics:

This is a large scale project and suitable electronics will be required to work this.

I used the following:

5280 Brushed Motor (taken from Rlaarlo MK07 crawler and has been seen to move 1:1 cars)

140a Brushed 3s Capable ESC (again taken from Rlaarlo MK07)

20-30kg Servo (Standard Servo adapter included in files or use a large scale servo)

3s 5000mah Battery

Alternatively you may want to run an even more powerful electronics setup as this was not the most powerful setup but worked nicely for some fun.

The GT2 pulley (16t) is included in files and also GT2 Driveshaft Pulley scaled to perfectly fit the incredibly large rear driveshaft (Scale down slightly if loose).

Filament:

Feel free to use what you have but for best results I found the below filaments worked a treat.

ABS (for Body Parts/seat/wheel)

PETG/ASA (for Chassis/Structural components)

Polycarbonate (for Rims, Driveshaft, Bushings)

Foaming TPU/LW  (For tires, I used ColorFabb Varioshore)

TPU 95A For printing of GT2 Belts (100% Infill)

Things to note before setting off:

  • Due to the extra size of components, scaling original 200% motor mount will not work as the holes are too far apart. I have created a basic motor adapter (included) that may require further modding on cad or Dremel to fit your motor choice.

  • This is a custom project using various parts I have found online (original owners credit given)

  • This project is LARGE and will take up a lot of space

  • Be prepared to make changes as required to drive belt system and use the belt generator/pulley generator if required to get the right setup for your motor/ESC choice.

  • I wouldn't recommended anything over 4s for this project

  • Feel free to comment here or on my channel comments section if you get stuck and need assistance with anything and i will try to help.

Enjoy and thanks once again to @ChristianErazo for the original project.
