Portable AC Balcony Door Adapter
I designed this because my apartment has no suitable window for a portable air conditioner exhaust hose. The only practical option was the balcony door.
The common fabric zipper door seals were not a good solution for me because:
they stay attached to the door frame all summer,
they look untidy,
the balcony door is used frequently.
This adapter allows the hose to exit through a much smaller opening by converting a 120 mm round hose into a thin rectangular outlet.
Instead of leaving a 120 mm gap, the door only needs to remain open enough for an outlet measurin 35 mm.
This reduces the amount of warm outdoor air entering the apartment while keeping the installation quick to install and remove.
Notes
Designed for a 120 mm portable AC hose.
The outlet dimensions are 30 × 377 mm.
The model was printed in ABS. PLA not recommended.
I added a strip of soft fabric tape where the adapter contacts the door to protect the painted surfaces.
A layer of fabric tape around the hose connection also improved the fit and sealing.
Feel free to remix or adapt it for different balcony doors or hose sizes.
