Model

This is a collection of miscellaneous track pieces.

Buffer stop

I did not like how the original Playmobil buffer stop looks. This is my idea of a good looking buffer stop.
The buffer stop consists of two parts:

  • B130a - 130mm track with buffer stop base, track connectors only on one side

  • B130b - buffer beam, best to print this in a different color

The two parts are connected via two M3x10 bolts and nuts. The nuts go on the inside, and will be pulled into a recess. (see photo that shows the back of the buffer stop)

Ramp

This track piece allows a train to go from the normal tracks to the floor, and vice versa.

  • R156 - 156mm long ramp to/from the floor

This model works well enough when printed at 0.2mm layer height (see photo), but if you want a smoother ramp, then you could use 0.15mm or 0.1mm layer height.

Adapter

This is an adapter between Playmobil track and LGB track (or other G scale track). It is a copy of the original Playmobil adapter piece, which is very rare, and expensive.

There are two variants:

  • AJ40 - 40mm Playmobil to LGB adapter, copy of the original Playmobil piece, the LGB track has a track joiner

  • A40 - 40mm Playmobil to LGB adapter, the LGB track has no track joiner

The A40 is easier to print than the AJ40, because AJ40 needs some special overhangs, which require supports. Removing those supports is difficult.

Markings

On the underside of the track pieces is the type code and the size of the track.

Printing

I printed all track pieces in PETG via 0.4mm nozzle at 0.2mm layer height. I changed the following settings from the "0.2mm Quality" default (bold settings are important):

  • Top solid layers: 6

  • Seam position: Nearest

  • Top fill pattern: Monotonic

  • Generate support: yes

  • Overhang threshold: 40°

  • Support on build plate only: yes

  • Don't support bridges: yes

  • Infill/perimeter overlap: 25%

The supports are needed for the connecting studs.
