While upgrading my 🥰 VORON to support a filament cutting toolhead, I was missing a depressor that matched what I wanted:
Mounts on top of extrusion backers
Provides a precisely fitted cutting position behind the print bed
Keeps adjustment range to a "reasonable minimum" in X/Y/Z
Keeps the backers securely fixed even during fine adjustments of the depressor
And of course it needed a bit of style, because that's what a VORON truly deserves.
The challenge with extrusion backers 🤔 |

 With backers installed, the mounting position of the depressor is largely determined by the backer's hole positions, as it sits piggybacked on top. To place the cutting position exactly in the limited space behind the printable area and the Y-endstop, the geometry has to be very close to a perfect fit. This becomes even more challenging because the 250 / 300 / 350 extrusion backers have slightly different mounting hole positions, meaning the depressor geometry needs to be customizable. On top of that, I wanted to fine-adjust the depressor without loosening the backers and affecting its behavior. A two-part design that separates the mounting of the two components is the solution. |

These place the cutting position in Y approximately 2 mm in front of the Y-endstop, with Z and Y adjustment ranges of +/- 1.5 mm. This gives the setup a clean look and provides just the right amount of fine adjustment needed. | ||
Backers Edition - Universal |

Similar to the FilamATrix version, but with a Z adjustment range of +/- 10 mm, intended for other toolheads with a similar cutter contact point in Y but a different Z position. If you use backers and neither of these fits your setup, open the Fusion file and adjust the parameters to your needs, or send me a note and I’ll be happy to add STL files for other setups. 👉 To perfectly fit the 250 / 300 / 350 versions, each variant has slightly different parts. Make sure to use the correct variant and check the orientation of the base during installation. |

This comes with a symmetric base, not tailored to any specific setup, but with 3 tip options to choose from. It features a large adjustment range and can also be mounted on top of your backers. Print Settings
Use your standard VORON print settings, parts are oriented correctly and no manual support is required (base comes with integrated one).
👉 Note: The orientation of the Pins is with the upper side placed on the print bed for nicer surface finish.
