Turn a Framework Laptop 12 mainboard into a vertical mini-PC tower. FrameDock is a support-free, one-piece 3D-printable dock: the board mounts on five bosses aligned to its factory standoff positions, the rear face carries VESA 75/100 mounting holes, and a cable-routing channel keeps the desk tidy. Open sides leave all four USB-C ports and expansion-card slots accessible, and the open front keeps the power button reachable with unblocked airflow.

PRINTING

- One piece: framedock-vertical_main.stl (226 x 136 x 82 mm), fits a 256 mm bed

- Print flat back face on the bed, no supports, all overhangs at most 45 degrees

- PETG or ASA recommended (heat resistance); PLA fine for light use

- 3 walls, 15-20% infill, 0.2 mm layers

HARDWARE

- 5x M3 heat-set inserts (Ruthex RX-M3x5.7, OD 4.0 mm)

- 5x M3x12 screws (button or socket head)

- VESA screws (M4) only if you wall/monitor-mount it

INCLUDED TOLERANCE GAUGE

framedock-vertical_gauge.stl is a 20x20x6 mm test chip (4.1 mm insert bore + 8.8x4.6 mm standoff counterbore). Print it first and check the fit before committing to the full print.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ

This design was created entirely from Framework's official reference CAD (FRAMEWORK_LAPTOP_12_MAINBOARD_V01.stp; board PCB 218.8 x 107.37 mm, five 8.2 mm factory standoff positions). It has NOT been physically test-fitted or test-printed - all images are renders. Clearances are deliberately conservative (at least 0.3 mm per side), but please print the gauge first.
