One layer, two tools, a small station at every corner and edge of the bed. At each station T1 prints next to T0, and you read how far apart they landed, in X and in Y. The same gap everywhere is a plain offset; a gap that changes across the bed is mechanical.
Step-by-step guide
Photos, how to read each scale, the analyzer and troubleshooting: hexcalibr.ui4.eu/idex-alignment.html
Scorecard and analyzer: hexcalibr.ui4.eu/idex-alignment-scorecard.html
What it does
Lite: a quick check after maintenance. T0 prints an outer U and T1 an inner U that should just touch it: a gap on one side and an overlap on the other show which way T1 moved, in X and Y, at every station. Under 0.5 g.
Vernier: reads the offset directly, like the vernier of a caliper, in 0.05 mm steps from −1.0 to +1.0 mm, at nine stations on beds from 300 mm (five on smaller beds). Under 2 g.
Automatic calibrations (RatOS VAOC, the XL's pin, nozzle cameras) measure the offset at one place without printing. This test checks the result in plastic, over the whole bed.
Why HexCalibr
No profile edits. Open the project with your multi-extruder profile; the tool assignment is already in the file.
Guided reading. The guide shows how to read each scale, with close-ups, and the usual misreadings.
Analyzer on the scorecard. Type the readings into the online card: it fits a plane through all stations, gives the offset, a verdict for each mechanism (X scale, rails or gantry, racking), and the lines to type into your firmware.
Which file to download
One file per test (Lite or Vernier) and per bed size: idex-lite_<bed>.3mf and idex-vernier_<bed>.3mf.
180·250: 180 and 250 mm square beds (5 stations)300: RatRig V-Core 4 300 IDEX, Sovol SV04, Tenlog TL-D3 (9 stations)350·400·500: larger square beds, e.g. V-Core 4 400 / 500 IDEX (9 stations)xl: Prusa XL, any two tools (9 stations)coreone·mk4: Core One-size and MK4-size beds with more than one tool (5 stations)j1: Snapmaker J1 (5 stations)
If your bed is not listed, take the next smaller one.
Quick steps
Download the single
.3mffor your bed (not "Download all" as a ZIP).In PrusaSlicer 2.9 use File › Open project, never Import. Set skirt loops to 0, and keep the tool offsets in one place only: firmware or slicer.
Print in normal mode with two contrasting colours of the same filament.
Read every station on the bed, before removing the print, with a loupe or a phone macro and raking light.
Type the readings into the scorecard, fix the mechanics first if a slope is flagged, then apply the new offset.
Other HexCalibr tests on IDEX
Temperature tower, pressure advance and max flow all work on IDEX printers: run them per toolhead (the pressure advance and max flow pages have _T0 / _T1 files).
Share your Make
Printed it? Post a Make with a photo of the whole bed and a close-up of your best and your worst station, and say which offset you set. Makes help other people read their own test.

🇮🇹 Italiano
Guida completa in italiano: hexcalibr.ui4.eu/it/idex-alignment.html
