Description

A camera mount designed to optimally mount an IMX708 Wide Angle Pi Camera to 1515 printers such as the Micron R1.

The camera sits low in the front corner and is angled toward the bed, so the wide lens covers the whole print area without getting in the way of the gantry.

CONFIRM THE GANTRY CLEARS IT ON YOUR PRINTER!

Printing

  • Stem: print standing on its base. No supports.

  • I printed mine in ASA. ASA or ABS is a good choice inside an enclosed printer.

Assembly

  1. Press the heat-set inserts into the mount stem with a soldering iron.

  2. Fit the camera board into the housing and route the ribbon cable out the bottom.

  3. Fix the housing to the stem with 2 countersunk M3 screws (4 mm long is fine).

  4. Mount the stem to the frame and aim the camera before tightening.

Notes

  • The Camera Module 3 Wide has autofocus. If the image looks soft, set the focus manually in your camera software.
