Oculus Quest Adapter for Playstation VR Headmount

This is a ongoing project. Goal is to use the Playstation VR headmount with an adapter to mount the Oculus Quest.

Feel free to add to this project. Next steps needed.

• create a nice cover around
• add a counter weight on the back of the PSVR Headmount for reblanace. Maybe a powerbank holder ?

Material needed to complete the Adapter

You need following additional Material to assembly the addapter

• 1 x ø2,5mm nail
• 1 x 18mmx2,5mm O-Ring or some other rubber ring/band

Parts needed from the original PSVR

Also you need following Parts from the original PSVR

• the mount plate
• 4 tiny silver screws
• 1 tiny black screw

Assembly Step 1

• cut the nail to get a 18mm long bolt
• assemble the bolt with the lock mechanic

Assembly Step 2

• insert the lock mechanic into the adapter
• place the mount plate ontop of the adapter
• use the 4 screws to fix the mount plate on the adapter

Assembly Step 3

• attach the o-ring or rubber ring to the adapter
• pull the o-ring over the lock mechanic

Assembly Step 4

• snap in the adapter to the Oculus Quest Top Headstrap Mountpoint
• turn the adaptor around and make sure the tissue is not squeezed
• turn the Qoculus Quest around and gently push the adapter until it snaps in

Assembly Step 5

• attach the adapter to the PSVR Headmount
• make sure the locking mechanic work properly

Assembly Step 6

• use the small black screw to install an end point stop that the oculus can not release completely from the adapter.
• it is not needed to tighten the screw, just that it stops the quest from complete release

Additional information - Howto remove the original Oculus Quest Headstrap

• loose the velcro
• pull it back as much as possible
• use a small screw driver or similar to slightly lift the cover
• while lifting the cover pull further back the headstrap

This is nondestructive, you can assembly the headstrap again reversing the steps.
