This mount is designed to allow the Dewalt track to be mounted and secured to a vertical surface, such as a wall or garage door.  The design allows the track to be mounted in a way that the edge of the splinter guard is not touching the bracket, preventing it from deforming over time.

Printing Instructions

  • Layer height: 0.2mm
  • Perimeters: 4
  • Infill: 20%
  • Supports: No
  • PETG. Print in the orientation provided.
  • Print at least two mounts for each section of track to ensure adequate support.
  • Use a third mount, alternated for long sections of track.

Hardware

  • 1x M5 x 12 screw
  • 1x M5 lock nut

Assembly

  1. Before assembly, take the M5 screw and push it through the screw hole in the top side of the base to clear the bridged material at the bottom of the hole and remove it. Optionally, drill out the hole from the tip side.  Remove any remaining small filament pieces from the hexagonal opening on the underside of the base.
  2. Insert the M5 lock nut into the hexagonal opening on the bottom side of the base.
  3. Place the M5 screw into the opening on the top side of the latch and connect the two pieces together.
  4. Tighten the screw to the desired friction level. I suggest to make them tight enough to prevent free movement of the latches but loose enough they are easy to move. Using the lock nuts will help to keep the desired friction.

Installation

  • Use the countersink holes on on the base and attach the mount to the wall stud where possible.  Use two mounts for each section of track, or more if desired.

Usage

  • Ensure the latch is rotated up and of the way of the track.
  • Slide the track onto the standoff on the base; this is designed to slide into the slot on the bottom of the track and should be a snug fit.
  • Rotate the latch fully back to secure the track in place.

Notes

  • This also fits the POWERTEC tracks.
  • I have my tracks mounted to my garage door and they hold securely when the door is in the raised position.  If attaching to a garage door use screws designed for thin metal and use at least three mounts with one on the opposite side and center from the outside mounts because the movement of the door can cause the track to dislodge because of gravity.
  • Be mindful, gravity always wins.
  • See the pictures for clarification.
