A small tool to help with swapping out hot end nozzles.
This driver is an adapter to 1/4" 7mm socket to allow you to hand drive your nozzles when swapping without burning your fingers. The standard wrench is still needed to loosen and tighten the nozzle prior to using this.
-- Additional Needed Parts --
6-32 Tap (for the holes)
4x 6-32 machine screws - L: 1/4".
1x 6-32 washer
1/4" to 7mm Socket Wrench Head
Print instructions
This model prints fine at with a 0.4 nozzle and at any layer height. I used 0.1 for the prototype. Supports are recommended for the arch on the Mountv2 file.
--- Assembly ---
- (Optional - Recommended) Use the 6-32 Tap to tap the the shaft hole on the Mountv2 object.
- Use the 6-32 Tap to tap all 3 holes on the ShaftDrivev1 object.
- Attach the Adapter to the top of the ShaftDrive with 3 6-32 machine screws. (Recommended length 1/4", https://www.servocity.com/actobotics-hardware-pack-a)
- Slide the WingedDrive onto the shaft with the tapped hole and secure with washer and screw. Note: the shaft is a little longer than the driver so you can't over tighten the screw.
- Slide the Adapter assembly onto the other shaft.
- Slide the 1/4" to 7mm socket driver onto the adapter.
Once assembled you are ready to use on your hotend. Please note that you should NOT hold the adapter on contact with the hot end for long enough that the socket heats up to melt the adapter. If you do you can print a new adapter and replace it.
