This is my final version of a conversion kit for the Bondtech LGX Lite extruder on the kingroon KP3S.
You will need:
- Old M3 screws from your Kingroon KP3S
- 3 additional M3 screws
- 1 M3 nut
- everything from the LGX LITE package
- 2 M3 threaded inserts
- some glue for the fan shroud
IMPORTANT: depending on your filament shrinkage, make sure to print the backplate slightly bigger.
I printed with the following setttings:
- ABS+
- 0,6 mm nozzle
- 25% infill
- 3 perimeters
- backplate 100,5% bigger
- organic supports
- 0,3 mm layer height
0,4 mm nozzle should also work great of course
As you can see in the photos you might need to adjust the x-endstop a bit depending on the precision of your prints.
HOW TO INSTALL:
- Insert threaded inserts into backplate
- Place a nut in the stopper and attach it to the mount with a M3 bolt
- Place heatbreak into backplate and reuse PTFE tube (check length by placing extruder on top)
- Use your old KP3S screws to mount the LGX Lite extruder
- Install everything on your machine
- Mount fan on frontplate with old screws and nuts (you might need a flatter M3 nut because of the tight fitment)
- Attach fan-shroud (with glue)
- Mount cover with 2 M3 screws and organize cables
