Printing recommendations
Print with 0.2mm or 0.3mm layer height and at least 3 walls and 4 or 5 top and bottom layers. I recommend at least 30% infill. After printing remove the slots support wall (integrated in the design) as shown in one of the photos. Then grab the original plate grub screw.
It is better to stick the GPU into the case and screw the GPU to it positioned outside the case. It is possible to screw them from inside but it is more difficult due to limited space. The position it on the case and screw the thumb screw in place. I do recommend extra support below the riser cable just to be comfortable. I designed one made for my type of riser cable (this) and if yours is like this one you can use the support I made.
History
The NZXT H510, H510i and H510 Elite have a vertical GPU mounting plate that s*cks. It puts any 2 slot cards almost touching the glass and this cause a lot of issues with heat as it clogs the fans access to fresh air.
That is a stupid design and as an engineer I find it offensive.
With my GPU starting to sag and then with several reports of my model of Gigabyte GPU cracking and not covered by warranty I decided to buy a PCIe 4.0 riser cable and make use of the native vertical GPU mount.
That lead to heat. A lot of heat. My GPU that worked nicely at 65ºC with a 70ºC hot spot without never need to power or thermal throttling starts to work at 75ºC with 95ºC hot spots!! Even to the limit of crashing more demanding games.
I tried several solutions, from adding a fan to force some flow to the glas, ducts, etc. Some of them even helped a little but…. Not ideal.
Then, yesterday I had an eureka moment! I could just rotates the card a few degrees far from the glass. This would put the GPU directly in front of the lower intake fan as before! And I could use the original space without cutting the case or buying fancy weird contraptions to use the original horizontal slots!
Easy to design. The first prototype worked first try (with minor issues) and the second is the final and installed version.
Now the GPU is happy back on original temperatures and stability by just less than an hour of design and a few grams of filament!
