Over 20 years ago I grew up with many of these old IKEA desk lamps throughout every room in my parent's house. After all these years the polycarbonate housings started to easily crack at the base with every movement. I still have one in my current own home and decided to design a replacement part for it, as the nostalgia stopped me from throwing the broken lamp out. While I was at it I replaced the 220V-12VAC transformer with a 220V-12VDC LED driver and plugged in a G4 LED bulb.
The part is designed for 3D printing using 0.2mm layer height and 0.9mm extrusion width to help with the overhangs, but it still requires some supports. I included a 3MF file which has the correct settings for the print and painted on supports where they are needed.
The bottom part of the housing was still intact but I decided to replace it as well, to make the design process easier. I added some voronoi patterning to the bottom as an experiment, and just for fun.
