The SC505 is a back to front case that's great for things like firewalls and what not.  It supports adding 2 x 3.5in drives or up to 4 x 2.5in drives via brackets.  This model adapts the AD905A ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018ATXKLI ) to the existing 3.5in / 2.5in bracket holes in the bottom of the case.  There is enough Z height to allow for a stacking, however my specific need doesn't need it so I haven't gone and done that here.

This adapts the case to having 5 of these M.2 adapters.

You'll need 2 additional things to properly mount this to the case, and securely attach the M.2 adapter:

  1. M3 bolts x 17
  2. M3 x 4.8mm (or M3 x 5mm) screws

I suggest just picking up a pack like this:
https://www.amazon.com/HELIFOUNER-Standoffs-Assortment-Motherboard-Screwdriver/dp/B09XLQM9VT/

Assembly Steps:

  1. There's 5 x M3 nuts that need to go in underneath the holes are undersized slightly, and I'd recommend just taking a soldering iron, sticking it through the nut and pushing it into the hole till it's solidly in.  It should be recessed some from the back.  This nut is to allow for the 1 screw to be used to attach the Adapter to this plate.
  2. There's 12 x M3 nuts that need to be place on the top, these have slightly larger clearances and I was able to push them into place with a small screwdriver from the top.
  3. From the bottom of the SC505 case you'll want to push an M3 screw through the appropriate holes and then screw into the through holes and the M3 nuts you did in step 2
  4. Once the plate is secure you can just place the M.2 adapters into the slots, the front and back holes have a standoff already in place to lock them from jostling around.  Just put another screw through the middle mounting hole and into the underside M3 nut you did in step 1
  5. Mount SSDs, cables, etc

The base is fairly thick to accommodate both the screws coming up from the bottom (4.8mm - 5mm) as well as the slot to allow for the M.2 adapter's additional mounting hole positions and it's fairly long screw that comes with it.
