No supports required. If you need a grid of a different size, you can get it from Darren's fusion 360 model, then it's just a case of adding a honeycomb piece to the back.
Rather than use standoffs I've had success using 16mm M3 bolts, which have enough friction to attach to the grid. For spacing I added a nut between the pcb and the grid.
