Fanadapter for mounting an external 80mm fan onto a 2.2Kw chinese cnc-spindle instead of the original fanblade. This lowers the noise level a lot. You can also run the fan for a few minutes after stop milling for more effective spindle cooling.
This works in my machine for several years very well with an adapter made from plywood, now it's time to change this to a printed one.
For fan mounting you should have thread inserts m3 on hand, also M3 bolts in a correct length (M3x10 or M3x12 when washers used).
To mount the adapter you have to remove the original back cover and the noisy fanblade. Use the coverscrews again for the adapter.
Because I provide 24V in my cnc router for the sensors I chose a 24V fan. You can use any you can drive, just check for proper cooling power. My spindle temperature rises up to 48° celsius when routing.
For printing use PETG, 4 Perimeter, 5 layers on top and bottom, 40% infill. Layer height 0.20mm, nozzle 0.4mm, Support needed. Needs about 76gr filament or about 25m.
