The original model provided by ZSA is a great starting point, but isn't printable, and was quite a messy mesh (and it had tons of unnecessary/invalid triangles).

I've cleaned it up to a step file that should be quite a close replica of the actual thumb cluster with a few changes:

  • I've made the screw holes all sized such that you should be able to thread all the original screws/bolts directly into the plastic.
  • I didn't bother modeling the feet “rings” since I wasn't actually going to use this model as is.
  • I didn't model the holes for the stabilizers (neither did ZSA in their model, and the first tuning I did was removing the stabilizers on my keyboard).

I'm sorry I modeled a fillet into the top side (which you should print upside down so you get a nice clean top surface), but it was in the original, and you can clean it up with just a bit of post processing (just add a few more walls there and sand it down).

I'm only including a STEP file since this is meant to be modified/reused in custom thumb clusters, and this model should just be a starting point.

NOTE: I did try printing the first version of this, and it mostly fit with the original, there were a few things off here and there, and I'm 99% sure I fixed the model after observing where things didn't quite line up,  but I made ~5 copies of this model and I may have forgotten to copy some fixes back to this model. Also, the alignment is all off, nothing is on 0,0, so I'd recommend you align the model before you start doing anything with it (but I spent enough time playing with this and it was time to move on to modeling the thing I really wanted to model).
